Statement on 7-Eleven Closure

Princeton residents who patronize the 7-Eleven on Nassau Street have encountered inaccurate signs on the doors of the closed store. One sign reads “We apologize, based on local jurisdiction our store will be closed until further.” The unfortunate wording of the 7-11 sign is leading people to believe the store was ordered closed by municipal authorities. This is not true.

The Municipality of Princeton had nothing to do with this store closure. The  COVID-19 outbreak is creating problems for many of our small businesses, and while we do not know why 7-Eleven closed, we suspect it was a difficult decision. We wish them well and hope they will be able reopen soon to serve their customers. We have no further information at this time.
